I decided to make this virtual open mic happen because of all the traumatic recent experiences around us and knowing that while social distancing is still important, so is being seen and heard.
My corner of the world is in the arts and seeing the world come together through it. We can uplift each other and change the world by what we create.
So let’s inspire each other through our work and support!
I will be creating this also as a fundraiser for UNICEF directly through IG.
UNICEF has and continues to help the children of our world stay healthy and educated.
“UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. And we never give up.” – UNICEF.COM

(Please do not feel any obligation to give. I know so many friends are experiencing some of the most difficult times right now. This is for everyone to come together.)

There are incredibly disadvantaged children who receive aid from UNICEF.
If you: Received medical attention, had access to vaccines and medical treatments, had a teacher and a desk, sleep in a mattress bed,  lived in a home that had a door with a lock and key, AC or heating in your home, driven in a car or owned a computer or smartphone, you are considered incredibly privileged.

We cannot forget that.

*This event is in no way sponsored by UNICEF

Samantha
